Danganronpa Another: Another Despair Academy is a Danganronpa fangame which has a sequel being worked on called Super Danganronpa Another 2. The project started on January 6th, 2013 (Chapter 1) and ended on June 11th, 2015. (Chapter 6)

Yuuki Maeda (SHSL LUCK)

Being the protagonist and SHSL Luck of this genre, Yuuki is one of the most ordinary-looking students, plain-looking even more than Naegi and Hinata. He’s friendly, quite good at reasoning, looks things on bright side just like Naegi does, but might be too optimistic for killing game.

Akane Taira (SHSL MAID)

Akane is super-friendly, suave mood-maker who lightens the atmosphere. She can be scary when she’s angry, but she’s caring, kind, positive, also convinced. The only flaw would be low self-respect.

Haruhiko Kobashikawa (SHSL PILOT)

Haruhiko-I’ll say that he’s just an ordinary high schooler, pretty much like Yuuki. Cheerful, sociable, shaped like friend, that kind of person who lightens up the mood (but in different styles from Akane). Ah, he’s also into military.

Ayame Hatano (SHSL SPRINTER)

Ayame is a stoic and strong-willed person. Although she appears to be perfectly calm in most situations, she admits that she can be awkward especially during conversations, and as a result, she has a tendency to ramble and wander off in her own, or not talk much at all.

Tsurugi Kinjo (SHSL POLICE)

Tsurugi is calm, also modest officer with strong leadership. He is righteous figure who dreams of defeating all evil of this world. He’s sometimes seen blaming himself when complemented. Possibly in Brain, Brawn and Beauty tropes.

Kizuna Tomori (SHSL CHEERLEADER)

Kizuna is bright, really outgoing girl. With her beauty and charm, she was the queen bee of former high school. Because of that, she is more prideful than she seems.

Mitsuhiro Higa (SHSL SOCCER PLAYER)

he can be explained into two extremes, either really proud of himself and his talent, or arrogant and ignores someone who’s (so-called) ‘inferior’ than him. Sounds like mixture of Kuwata and Sakakura? You might be not wrong

Rei Mekaru (SHSL PROFESSOR)

Rei seems more mature than other students, making her looking more older than she actually is. However, she is very prideful and refuses conversation from person she didn’t accept, even the SHSLs. An elitist who swears lot. In two words; Togami junior.

Katana Inori (SHSL SURGEON)

Kanata is modest and kind-hearted. She wants to trust everyone in situation like this. As a medic in closed circle, she is suitable for job examining the body. She claims that she can treat better than school nurse!

Kakeru Yamaguchi (SHSL LAWYER)

Kakeru seems scary, especially with all those muscles and stern face, but don’t judge a book by its cover-he’s just timid boy who flushes a lot. BUT, when the trial begins, his personality changes, full 180 degrees and starts vindication with great energy.

Teruya Otori (SHSL MERCHANT)

With the green idiot hair, mixture of various dialects, and fashion sense that needs serious help of SHSL fashionista, Teruya got some eye-catching characteristics. Basically he’s just bright kid with generosity of merchant, but he also has woobie-like side of not taking this harsh situation well.

Satsuki Iranami (SHSL CLOWN)

Satsuki is that kind of character who never forgets to smile and makes jokes (even in the situation like this). She has childish style of speaking; with that combined with puns, shoutouts, role play, and silly jokes, the conversation with her is totally unpredictable.

Kiyoka Maki (SHSL SNIPER)

Kiyoka is just another outgoing genki girl. Even if she owns SHSL talent at shooting, she actually hates it and just wants to be normal teenager-for example, her interest is cosmetic and fashion. Pretty ‘normal’, isn’t it?

Kinji Uehara (SHSL PREIST)

Kinji is serious and reticent, to the point where he seems perfectly fine at situation like this. He also has stronger side of not giving in what he believes is right. He is catholic, but he doesn’t propagate because he respects freedom of religion of different individuals.

Mikako Kurokawa (SHSL EXORCIST)

Mikako is extremely quiet-most of her lines contain at least one ‘……’. Combined with zero eye contacts, she is the most negative one in the cast. However, she can stop the chaos and find important clues when needed. As I always(?) say, don’t judge a book by its cover.

I'm /u/Satellite478 and today I'm making this post to announce (and ask for help for) an English localization of the Korean fangame, Super Danganronpa Another 2!

What is Super Danganronpa Another 2?

Super Danganronpa Another 2 (SDRA2) is the sequel to the Danganronpa fangame Danganronpa: Another. They are both full Danganronpa fangames with their own art, murders and trials, made in RPG Maker. The game is created by Korean developer LINUJ, and both games have only been released entirely in Korean. You can find various gameplay videos of both games on Youtube. We found ourselves more attached to the cast and art of the second game rather than the first, and the second game has been picking up a lot of steam in the English Danganronpa community. Additionally, it appears that several groups have already started translating the first game, and we would not like to overlap with their efforts.

Yup! His Youtube channel is Johnny Youngster and he is a part of our translation team.

Do you have permission from the original creator to do this?

Also a yes! Here is the original email we received from the creator regarding the project. The tl;dr of it is that they have officially allowed us to translate, dub and create an English patch of the game. The only conditions the developer asked is to not make a financial profit of any shape, form or way from this project, to which we already agreed to.

Yup! A lot of us on the team are (hobby) voice actors, and as such have an interest in dubbing the game. If you dislike English dubs on principle, don't worry! We plan to release a version of the game with the English dub, and one without. We will be holding an open and impartial casting call at a later date.

What progress have you made translating the game currently?

At the moment, we have fully translated the prologue and are just starting on Chapter 1.

You talk a lot about 'the team'. Who exactly does this team consist of?

Good question! Currently, we have 3 translators, a person who's familiar with RPG Maker VX Ace and how it works (that's me!), an artist and around 5 or so editors. We are all working together to edit the script, so that we create as little inconsistencies and deviations from the original game as possible.

Ultimate or Super Highschool Level?

As this is an English localization, we will be following the NISA translations and using Ultimate.

Do you have any screenshots of what you've done so far?

Indeed we do! Keep in mind that these are development images, though, and they are subject to change! (Also, RPG Maker VX Ace is a little weird about screenshots, so some images may appear cut off!)

How can I help?

Right now, we are still in need of several talented (heh) people to help us out:

Obviously, this is a huge task we're undertaking, and our three translators are under huge amounts of work and stress. Any additional help would be much appreciated!

  • Artists

As is standard of a Danganronpa (fan)game, there is a lot of art. Some of the art of this game features Korean text, and we would need artists to redraw these specific parts of images into English.

  • Text implementors

I'm not gonna lie, implementing text is a monotonous and quite frankly, boring task. However, it is quite easy to do and the more people we have doing it, the less work for everyone involved! I will be able to help you with any problems you have with RPG Maker itself, but it is a relatively simple task that almost anyone could do. This will require you to have a copy of RPG Maker VX Ace.
